Why is shipping so insanely expensive?!

Shipping typically costs $20 CAD or less within Canada and $30 CAD or less to the US. For some reason shipping defaults to Expedited for $46+ (I'll work on figuring this out). In the end, I always choose the cheapest shipping option that has tracking. I refund any differences in shipping, so if you're buying a couple of mugs and shipping is $40+ you can expect at least some of that to be refunded. If this is a barrier, please reach out and I can work it out with you one-on-one to figure out exactly what the cost will be to your zip code. Thanks for your support!

When will products be restocked?

It takes a lot of time to make pottery: throwing, trimming, first firing, glazing, second (or third) firing, plus the days of storing and control drying every piece in between steps. I will do store updates periodically (~every couple of months) when I have enough pieces to have a store update. Stay up to date through Instagram or add your name to the email list for the most important updates.
I don’t do preorders or reserve any of the pieces I make for store updates. Please don’t ask because I feel bad every time I have to say no.

How does shipping work?

Shipping prices are processed directly through Canada Post by weight. You will be able to select your preferred choice at checkout--all items will include tracking and insurance up to $100. After your order has been shipped you will receive your tracking number. 

Local Pick up for Winnipegers:

If you live within Winnipeg and would prefer to pick up your order:

1. Select the pick up option at checkout
2. You will be messaged via text or email when you order is ready for pickup. PLEASE check you spam/promotions if you do not receive this notification within a day or two.
3. I opt for contactless pickup and details will be arranged with you.

 Product Care

Ceramics from The Good Wheel are food, dishwasher and microwave-safe, unless otherwise noted, and meant to last a lifetime. I use my own mugs and functional ware at home and they have stood the test of time after hundreds of uses. However, if you are concerned about the longevity, handwashing the piece is a good way to reduce the likelihood of any damage. Satin matte glazes are more susceptible to scratches so please keep this in mind when making a purchase. Gold lustre should never be put in the microwave! I recommend lightly washing gold lustre by hand as harsh dishwasher soaps can cause is to fade.

Custom orders

Currently I am not set up to do very many custom orders, but I hope to be able to become more efficient and able to take on more custom pieces in the near future. If I have the time, material and ability I always like a challenge of doing something new, so just shoot me a message on the contact page or DM on Instagram.

How are mug sizes/capacities measured

The capacity of a mug is measured when full to the rim in ounces. Everyone will use a mug in their own way, so this allows a universal comparison. I suggest taking your favorite mug and measuring its capacity to the rim, then basing your size choice off that. I provide general measurements in inches for items that are harder to measure.

All products purchased from this site are final sale. 

If there is a problem with the order, please reach out to me as soon as possible and I will do my best to make it right.

Please note that each of my pieces are handmade and one-of-a-kind. No two pieces are exactly alike, even if you order a set. If that is not your cup of tea, I’d be happy to refer you to retailers who use molds and forms to create more precise and polished work.

My piece arrived broken

First, I am terribly sorry! Shipping ceramics is tricky business. I do my best to package your piece as best I can to survive shipping. But ship happens. Contact me within 5 days of receiving your broken piece with pictures of the item and original packaging and we can work together to figure out how best to move forward. I am a small-batch artist and each piece is unique, so if I have a similar piece in stock I will speedily ship it out to you or create a new one. If you prefer to have store credit for something different, that is an option too. I am willing to work with you on this so communication is key.
